A well-known manufacturer of dimensional lumber was experiencing severe wear issues with their 3/5VX800 trim saw V-belts. In the harsh, high-demand environment of their plant, belts were failing within just 3 weeks after installation. By the 4–6 week mark, multiple belts on several of the 11 saws along the line had failed—causing downtime, maintenance interruptions, and increased operating costs.
